What now?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<div id=\"simple-text-block-block_24cc7c23ceab54aed6a3aa4a8a09c69b\" class=\"block-simple-text-block alignfull \" style=\"background-color:\">\n  <div class=\"container\">\n  \t<div class=\"row\">\n  \t\t<div class=\"col\">\n  \t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n  \t\t\t\t<p>At some point in your email marketing career (if you haven\u2019t already), you\u2019ll go through the rite of passage that is migrating email service providers (ESP) or marketing automation platforms (MAP).<\/p>\n<p>There are a few ways email migrations usually come to fruition:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>It\u2019s renewal time!<\/li>\n<li>Your current platform no longer meets your needs.<\/li>\n<li>Your new CMO or other marketing leader wants to move to a new platform.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We\u2019re going to cover the third scenario in this blog post, but watch this space over the next several weeks. We\u2019ll have a whole series to address the other situations above.<\/p>\n<p>So, first off, you may be wondering\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>Why would your CMO care about the tool you\u2019re using?<\/h2>\n<p>It can be tough to have a decision made for you\u2014and we get that\u2014but here\u2019s why it can actually be a good thing a lot of the time.*<\/p>\n<p><strong>You have a CMO or marketing leader who \u201cgets\u201d the importance of email.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Did you know that <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/resources\/2020-state-of-email-report-fall-edition\/\">77% of marketers say email is one of their top 2 most effective marketing channels<\/a>? Your CMO is prioritizing email by making sure you\u2019re equipped to scale your email marketing program. Without the extra burden on your email workflow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You have a CMO or marketing leader who understands the value of email.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Email boasts a return on investment (ROI) of <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/resources\/2020-state-of-email-report-fall-edition\/\">$36 for every $1 spent<\/a>. That\u2019s HUGE. With this year\u2019s marketing budgets possibly going up from last year\u2014but still not to the numbers of 2019\u2014wanting to maximize every dollar spent just makes sense. And who gets to look good doing it? You.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You don\u2019t have to get buy-in or make the case for budget.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It can be tough convincing your boss you need a different platform (and the budget to switch). When your leadership team is already on board, you\u2019re golden. Enough said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You don\u2019t have to evaluate multiple ESPs or MAPs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Researching ESPs or MAPs you want to consider can be intimidating and time-consuming. With more than <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/resources\/2020-state-of-email-report-fall-edition\/\">40% of marketers saying email marketing is under-resourced<\/a> in their company, eliminating this step can be a big help.<\/p>\n<p>With these preliminary steps removed, that takes some of the load off. So you can focus on the next steps in your migration process instead:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Audit all your programs.<\/li>\n<li>Sync your data.<\/li>\n<li>Set all of your programs up in your new provider.<\/li>\n<li>QA &amp; test your emails once set up.<\/li>\n<li>Warm up your new IP address(es).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Phew. That\u2019s still quite a list. But you can cut out some of those with a little bit of help&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Next steps: Save time as you prep for migration<\/h2>\n<p>Even with your CMO or marketing leader saving you the trouble of research, there\u2019s still one really big thing on your horizon: You\u2019ve got to move almost everything over.
