Since MPP\u2019s launch in September, Apple has been slowly climbing for the most part. <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-january-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compared to last month<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Apple\u2019s share increased from 57.2% to 59.8%, a growth of 2.6%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Apple grew its share, Gmail and Outlook decreased their shares, now at 27.4% and 4.3%, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s take a closer look at each Apple subcategory:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple Mail Privacy Protection: 49.9%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple iPhone (iOS Mail): 5.8%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple Mail (macOS Mail): 3.6%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple iPad (iPadOS Mail): 0.5%<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple Mail Privacy Protection\u2019s share grew by 11.88%, from 44.6% in January to 49.9% in February. When we reported on this <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-january-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">last month<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the growth was much smaller at 8.78%. We wondered whether this was a sign of MPP\u2019s normalization\u2014but with this month\u2019s growth, it appears things are yet again fluctuating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Want more data and trends? This could be due to the introduction of MPP, as the new OSes don\u2019t differentiate between MPP and non-MPP in the user agent data it passes. However, even with this decline, Apple iPhone (iOS Mail) continues to hold steady as the most popular mobile email client.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In contrast, Google Android has been increasing its share over the past few months. <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-august-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In August 2021<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, its share was 4.9%; this month it\u2019s at 20.3%. Apple iPad (iPadOS Mail) has also grown, but at a much smaller margin, <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-august-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from 3%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to 5.6% over the course of the past six months.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most popular webmail opens<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What were the most popular webmail email clients? Outlook\u2019s reign as the most popular desktop client is relatively new, as it\u2019s typically occupied by Apple Mail (macOS Mail)\u2014something we pointed out <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-january-2022\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">last month<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Light Mode\u2019s share decreased by a hair, from 74.3% to 74.2%.
