Each month since the launch of MPP, Apple\u2019s share has been increasing slowly, growing <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-october-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from 51.4% in October<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to now 60.7%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When we take a closer look at each Apple subcategory, we can see that the uptick in Apple Mail Privacy Protection\u2019s share is what\u2019s causing the growth in Apple\u2019s overall email client market share. It now accounts for 53.1% of all Apple clients.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a breakdown of each Apple subcategory:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple Mail Privacy Protection: 53.1%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple iPhone (iOS Mail): 4.2%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple Mail (macOS Mail): 3.0%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apple iPad (iPadOS Mail): 0.4%<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of Apple\u2019s growing market share, Gmail and Outlook saw a decline. Gmail is the second most popular email client at 26.5% and in third is Outlook at 4.1%<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Looking for more data and trends? But in December 2021, that changed as Apple Mail Privacy Protection <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-december-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">took the top spot<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It peaked in <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/email-client-market-share-august-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">August 2021 at 90.5%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and has been declining since. In March, it continued to grow, by 5.9% (from 53.9% to 57.1%)\u2014still holding its spot as number one.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Light Mode vs. Dark Mode opens<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s take a closer look at Light Mode vs. Dark Mode. It decreased slightly, from 74.2% to 72.7%.
