The vibe felt less like a conference about to commence, and a little more like summer camp, honestly. We were just a joyous bunch of email geeks, all chatting and rustling in our seats, slapping new Litmus Live stickers on laptops, and waiting for the camp counselors to arrive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And so it was, to great applause, that Litmus\u2019 own SVP of Marketing <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/cynthiahprice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cynthia Price<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and Senior Community Evangelist <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/logansandrock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Logan Sandrock Baird<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> made their opening remarks, and kicked off the next two day of email-based camaraderie!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a quick peek at each of the sessions on day one:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BTS of Achieving the Impossible: 100% Conversion Rate &#8211; Samar Owais<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our very first keynote session that morning came from one of the biggest names in email, the legendary <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/samarowais\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Samar Owais<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Move the entire customer base of Workamajig to a new version of the product before a very tight deadline. Samar was faced with a tricky problem. She had only email at her disposal to accomplish this very big ask. To do so, she began with the customer. Because, as she stated, \u201cWithout customer research, there is no email strategy.\u201d So real, <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/community-spotlight-samar-owais\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Samar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so real.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"h-md\"><strong>\u201cWithout customer research, there is no email strategy.\u201d \u2014 Samar Owais<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, she shared, her team went all out to find out how to reach every customer in a way they would respond to. They hosted a webinar, they sent out follow-up emails, and ultimately got every single customer switched over to the new version before the deadline, resulting in a 100% conversion rate! Now that\u2019s a win for the email marketing history books.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But it wasn\u2019t all just her. We hosted two tracks, running simultaneously\u2014the Professional and the Practical. Attendees could choose which to attend, and switch back and forth between them as desired throughout the day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s take a peek at what those sessions covered!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What&#8217;s the Point of Marketers? &#8211; Najmah Salam<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this session, <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/najmetender\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Najmah Salam<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> confronted some of the burning questions facing marketers today head on. In a world where &#8220;60-70% of an employee\u2019s time could be automated,&#8221; how does the dedicated marketer provide real value to a team? And it\u2019s not enough to be quietly confident anymore. \u201cYou have to be SEEN doing the work and show how difficult the work is,\u201d said Najmah. It\u2019s time to be our own advocates in the workplace, and louder than ever!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Email Deliverability: A Result of Respect &#8211; Radek Kaczynski<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over on the practical track, <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/radoslawkaczynski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radek Kaczynski<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tackled the issue of <\/span><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/blog\/why-email-deliverability-matters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">email deliverability<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. What is the magic formula for getting into inboxes, and staying there? The answer is simple: it\u2019s about respect, and showing your audience that you respect them, their time, and their choices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"h-md\"><strong>&#8220;Respect is the center of email deliverability.&#8221; \u2014 Radek Kaczynski<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sender reputation takes time to build, and every time you send an email with broken links, ignore a subscriber\u2019s communication preferences, or don\u2019t deliver on the promise you made when first establishing the relationship with your audience, you jeopardize that respect.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How B2B Marketers Can Prepare for How Data Privacy Will Change Email Metrics and Strategy &#8211; Natalie Jackson<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If data privacy isn\u2019t top of mind for you as a marketer these days, who are you and how are you functioning? Between GDPR, CPRA, and the end of third-party cookies, it\u2019s a pretty big deal.
