Once the email reaches that limit, the rest of the content is hidden, with \u201c[Message clipped]\u201d text and a \u201cView entire message\u201d link displayed leading to a webview version of your email.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-92444 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.litmus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/messageclipped.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"144\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s particularly unfortunate is that the clipping will occur wherever the 102kb limit is reached, which may prevent code structures like tables or divs from being closed properly, potentially causing broken layouts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s also worth noting that the 102kb limit does <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> include images, only the data size of the code itself. While image size is important to keep in mind for email rendering speed, you don\u2019t need to worry about it in this context.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you need to shorten your content?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An understandable conclusion to jump to when considering how to stay under that Gmail clipping limit is to think that you have to severely shorten your content.
